Born in Guiyang, from Beijing, based in Brooklyn, New York.

Ring/ 雨锜 Yuqi (yu-chi) is a fiery multidisciplinary queer performer, director, clown, and theatre educator. They graduated from George Washington University with an MFA in Classical Acting.

They began their art practices in 2011, initially focusing on photography and writing, and have since created works in various forms, including, but not limited to, art directing, performance, video art, and mask-making. Their work explores the euphoric playfulness, intricacies of movement, and the metamorphosis of the human body. As an immigrant, Ring navigates the intersectionality between personal experiences and the surveillance state, examining the complexities of identity and belonging.

They love very spicy food and chaos.
